
Heather Tilton, Trauma Nurse Consultant

Heather Tilton is a Trauma Nurse Consultant with Diligent Consultant, where she specializes in nurse mentorship, trauma verification, performance improvement, and guideline development. She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Samuel Merritt University and a master’s degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley. Throughout her career she has served in a variety of nursing leadership capacities, including Trauma Program Manager at a large Level I trauma center in Oakland, as well as roles as a bedside nurse, performance improvement specialist, injury prevention coordinator, legal nurse consultant, trauma educator, and state site reviewer for Washington.

Anyone who has worked with Heather knows she is quick-witted, perceptive, and extremely knowledgeable about almost everything related to trauma. From her earliest clinical role as a ward clerk in the emergency department, she has been captivated by the pace, complexity, and human stories that define the field of trauma care. Heather is a self-defined data geek who is energized by guideline development and stoked about paperwork.

In her free time, Heather spends most of her time at carting her three children to their activities and social endeavors, but also finds time occasionally to travel and read.
