Diligent Consulting, founded in 2020 and operated out of Des Moines, Iowa, is a consulting firm focused on trauma center and trauma system consultation. We partner directly with hospitals and governing bodies (EMS agencies), and we are also available as a 1099 subcontractor as part of larger projects.

Founder Sarah Spilman considers trauma care to be the best field of healthcare. First, it draws heroic doctors, nurses, paramedics, and staff who run toward emergencies, not away from them. Second, trauma providers show up for patients and their families in what might be the very worst moments of their lives. And they do so with professionalism, care, and dignity. Third, it is one of the only fields that is premised on performance improvement: it takes humility and strength to acknowledge areas in need of improvement and tenaciously go after them until the problems are solved.

One of our company's greatest strengths is collaboration. We can provide all the required reports and plans with clarity, confidence, and actionable recommendations, but more importantly, we work alongside your team to build on what already works, provide objective evaluation, and empower and grow leaders so they can sustain change after the consulting engagement is complete.

Founder Sarah Spilman has 25 years of professional experience across a variety of industries. She has 5 years of consulting experience, working with more than two dozen trauma centers and trauma agencies across the country. She also has more than 30 published research articles and has worked with more than 100 co-authors.
